An emergency protective order filed against Oklahoma running back Rodney Anderson accuses him of rape, according to a Cleveland County court petition obtained Tuesday morning by the Tulsa World.

The woman claims she was raped by Anderson at her apartment a few weeks ago.

After details of the allegations surfaced, Anderson's attorney, Derek Chance of Oklahoma City, released a lengthy statement in which he described the allegations as "patently false".

The petition filed against Anderson on Monday alleges the Sooners' rushing leader forced himself on the woman on November 16 and that she remembers "feeling like (she) couldn't get away".

Anderson, who is from Katy, Texas, has become a key force on the OU offense in the second half of this season, rushing for 960 yards and 11 touchdowns, plus 283 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

The statement alleges Anderson then followed the woman and asked her what she thought she was doing.

Anderson is now not facing charges, and a hearing is set for December 18.

Anderson also had a protective order filed against him on Monday.

A lawyer representing Anderson called the allegation false and sais Anderson "will be exonerated of any wrongdoing". "However, there are those accused of sexual assault which they unequivocally did not commit - as is the case for Mr. Anderson". "It is incumbent on our community to reserve judgement and to treat this allegation on its own merit".

A hearing before a judge is scheduled for December 18. He has 1,041 yards from scrimmage and 14 touchdowns over the past six games.

Anderson, who struggled with injuries the last two years, inherited the starting RB role from Joe Mixon, who was drafted to play in the National Football League despite an ugly incident on his record in which he punched a woman in the face.

As a result of this situation, Anderson's availability to play when Oklahoma plays Georgia on New Year's Day in one of the College Football Playoff national semifinal games is in doubt. Mixon is now with the NFL's Cincinnati Bengals.
