The SCO members should speed up the process in their respective country to have the document approved and taken effect as soon as possible, Li said when attending the 16th SCO prime ministers' meeting, which was held on Thursday and Friday in Russia's coastal city of Sochi.

Reciprocating the offer with warmth, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan said that Pakistan looks forward to harbouring a favourable cooperation in future exchanges and trade with China in various fields.

The SCO meeting is the first of its kind after the organization's membership expansion in June to include India and Pakistan. The retreat would be followed by a plenary session of the CHG, where Abbasi would deliver a speech. "India became a full member of SCO on June 9, 2017", External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted.

Pakistan on Thursday said there will be no meeting with India on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Russian Federation.

At the plenary, the prime minister would outline Pakistan's commitment to SCO's objectives, including fighting terrorism/extremism and its honest interest in ensuring regional peace, stability and development.

Earlier, Abdullah met Russia's Prime Minster Dmitry Medvedev on the sidelines of the summit and discussed the fight against terrorism and strengthening of bilateral relations between the two sides.

It will also work towards ensuring safety in cooperative projects initiated with China, such as coordination in multilateral mechanism and other regional matters along with SCO, he said.

The summit is going to be attended by leaders from Pakistan and China.
