Waleed, who's reportedly being groomed by Saeed to take over Laskhar-e-Toiba (LeT) and anti-India operations, told New Delhi to stop crying on America's shoulders. "Pakistan has not changed its policy of shielding and supporting non-state actors and its true face is visible for all to see", MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said last week. Pervez Musharraf said at that time he did not know much about Hafiz Saeed and the situation at that time was different. "We were moving towards peace and as such I thought we should reduce "mujahids" (religious warrior) and increase political dialogue and frankly I had very less knowledge about him", said Musharraf.

Calling himself the "biggest supporter" of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) group and its founder Hafiz Saeed, Former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf said he backs the terror outfit's role in pressuring the Indian army in Kashmir.

"Yes, they (LeT) are involved in Kashmir".

NEWLY freed Pakistani Isla-mist Hafiz Saeed, who has a $10 million United States bounty on his head, spoke at last Friday's (24) prayers in a mosque in Lahore after being freed from house arrest by a court that said there was no evidence to hold him.

When asked about whether he likes JuD chief, Musharraf said: "Yes, I have met him, even recently.I have always been in favour of action in Kashmir, and I've always been in their favour, that in Kashmir we must pressure the Indian Army and this (LeT) is the biggest force".

The former President went on to deny that LeT was involved in the 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai? an allegation levelled by India and supported by Washington.

Mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks Hafiz Saeed, who was released from house arrest in Pakistan on November 24, would have to wait for his name to be removed from the United Nation's list of designated terrorists till the world body gets an ombudsperson to hear his petition.

Over 160 people died in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

In January this year, 68-year-old Saeed was recently released after almost ten-month-long house arrest in Pakistan following a court order.

When the Lashkar and JuD chief was just 90 days into his 10-month detainment, Musharraf had asked then Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to free him and claimed that his JuD was a "very fine NGO" that is engaged in relief work.

Meanwhile, influential Democratic lawmaker Tulsi Gabbard termed as "ridiculous" the release of Hafiz Saeed from house arrest.
