US President Donald Trump has accused CNN of "poorly" representing the United States to the world on Sunday and reiterated his claims that the broadcaster spreads biased news coverage.

"The outside world does not see the truth from them!" he wrote.

"@realDonaldTrump My @CNNi & @CNN colleagues regularly risk their lives in #Syria #Iraq #Afghanistan #Niger and beyond, following US Troops into war-zones, chronicling natural disasters, holding dictators to account & profiling everyday heroes", tweeted Jon Sciutto, CNN s national security correspondent. Trump wrote on Twitter. "That's yours. Our job is to report the news", adding "#FactsFirst".

During today's broadcast of Reliable Sources, Stelter brought on a panel to discuss Trump's recent attacks on CNN as well as his TIME tweet. "Continuing to have an adversarial relationship with that network is a mistake".

The president may have already moved onto his next Twitter tirade, but the internet came to the defense of the network, giving reasons why CNN is not the fraudulent company Trump paints it as.

Several of CNN's top journalists also entered the fray. Again, there is "nothing fake about that". If they can't do their job, then dictators will not be held accountable. Until now it was not possible for me to conceive of an American President capable of such an outrageous assault on truth, a free press or the first amendment. Well with US President's Twitter habits, there is no boring day on the social media.

"Our liberty depends on the freedom of the press, and that can not be limited without being lost". Some see the move as an effort to hand the network over to a conservative buyer, like Rupert Murdoch.
