"I am thrilled to welcome Chip Kelly to Westwood", UCLA AD Dan Guerrero said. Florida had kept its options open while engaged with Kelly and is now prepared to pursue those other candidates.

After four seasons in the National Football League with the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers, the former Oregon Ducks head coach is finalizing a deal to become the new head coach of the UCLA Bruins, reports Yahoo! Mora took the Bruins to the Pac-12 championship game in 2012 and Bowl games in his first four seasons, but they've struggled over the last three campaigns, going 18-19 since 2015. After all, few have done a more impressive job in turning a program into a national power than Kelly executed at OR and, even with two relatively unsuccessful NFL stints, there is every reason to believe that he will be a quality option at the college level again. Prior to that, he spent three seasons with the Eagles and went 26-21.

Kelly succeeds Jim Mora, who was sacked last week after a 28-23 loss to USC.
