Trump took questions as he and his family departed the White House to spend their Thanksgiving holiday at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

The president slammed the record of Moore's Democratic opponent, Doug Jones, saying "it's bad on crime, it's awful on the border, it's awful on the military". They said they believe Moore and not the women's "lies". "He totally denies it".

After Conway spoke at length about the need to elect officials that are copasetic with a pro-growth, pro-tax-cut Republican agenda, co-host Brian Kilmeade asked: "so, vote for Roy Moore?". The goal is to give them permission to vote for a Democrat in the December 12 special election.

In the almost two weeks since the White House put out this statement, five more women have come forward with allegations against Moore.

They might take pressure off the Senate hopeful, who has come under fire as more sexual misconduct allegations pile up against him.

In a particularly impactful moment, Corfman described the lasting effect that her encounter with Moore had on her life. The Moore campaign has denied the allegations, which were first reported by the Washington Post. The Republican National Committee also ended its joint fundraising agreement with Moore.

In the new ad, President Trump's daughter is quoted saying of the Moore allegations: "There's a special place in hell for people who prey on children".

"It never happened", Moore said.

"You've got to understand, Alabamians, that the world is watching you", Moore ally Dean Young said during the event.

On Monday, White House adviser Kellyanne Conway suggested that electing Mr Moore to help pass the USA president's tax reform agenda took precedence over the widespread disquiet about the allegations.

Rev. Jennifer Butler, the CEO of Faith in Public Life, blasted those who continue to stand by Moore, calling the allegations against him "sickening".

Faced with a binary choice between Moore and Jones, the White House has sided with Moore. The election is to fill the last three years of the Senate seat once held by Jeff Sessions, who resigned from it to join President Donald Trump's Cabinet as attorney general, the country's top law enforcement position.

Voter surveys in Alabama have shown that Jones has pulled ahead of Moore by about 5 to 8 percentage points. "I felt like I was the one that was to blame", she said. "Ironically, the worst-case scenario for Senate Republicans is if Moore actually wins and they are stuck with an alleged sexual predator and pedophile in their conference". @aldotcom and the state's 3 largest newspapers call on voters to unite for decency, support Democrat Doug Jones for U.S. Senate.
