Road Trip Ready: 2.3 million will take a Thanksgiving road trip; an increase of 71,786 people (3.2%). More than 200,000 are expected to use other modes of transportation, about the same as previous year. Previous year on Thanksgiving Day, the average price for a gallon of regular in Florida was $2.10.

While gas prices are higher this year, Armbruster says travelers will continue to supply the demand.

In Florida, 190,720 are expected to take a flight, a 4.5 percent over a year ago, AAA said.
