Two men stabbed at the Mall of America

At least two were stabbed at the Mall of America in Minnesota on Sunday night. When officers arrived, they learned the incident started after a theft was interrupted.

It happened around the men's department of Macy's, which is not far from the mall's Santa Experience. The second victim was stabbed when they tried to intervene.

Police say the first victim was stabbed after he returned to the dressing room and confronted a man attempting to steal his belongings.

Officials took Mahad Abdiaziz Abdirahaman, 20, of Minneapolis into custody and charged him with two counts of first-degree assault, CBS Minnesota reports.

Family members were apparently able to disarm the suspect and Bloomington police took the suspect into custody. Meanwhile, the suspect is also believed to have been wounded. One man told Schwieters that he appeared to be having a conversation with himself, even yelling at times.

"We saw the man walking through before, talking to himself, really really loudly talking to himself", she said. I heard someone screaming 'He got me!

Police arrested the suspect, who was held by other shoppers after the incident, the Star-Tribune reports. He got me!'. I knew something was not right.
