Local firefighters believe the floor collapsed because of too much jumping. Denton paramedics treated seven people at the scene for minor injuries but didn't take anyone to the hospital by ambulance.

Carly Carroll, who lives in the apartment right below were the party occurred, said she just moved in three months ago.

A video shows the moments after the floor of a Texas apartment collapsed.

A party at the University of North Texas was apparently so lit this weekend that the floor actually collapsed.

Carley Carroll is a UNT sophomore who lives on the second floor directly below the unit that collapsed.

Video of the incident was captured at the third floor of Ridge Apartments, a student housing complex in Denton, Texas.

Until the building and its sprinkler system are repaired, the utilities will remain shut off, Denton Fire Department Battalion Chief Brian Glenn said.

That's when the floor gave out under the weight of the crowd, sending dozens of people into the second floor apartment below. "Everything is gone", said Carroll.

"We've called and said, 'It looks like the ceiling is going to cave in, ' so I feel like with us saying that, there could've been more that was done", she said.

Managers of the Ridge at North Texas apartment complex told reporters they relocating about 50 residents as a result of the incident. Police say those type of calls are low priority in nature and people have usually left the party by the time officers arrive.

Students affected by this say both the apartment management and the university have helped secure places for them to stay, mostly in hotels or dorms and food.
