On Sunday, Butch Jones was sacked as head coach of the Volunteers with two games remaining in a miserable season.

Several reports say Tennessee has fired Jones after five seasons as the Vols' head coach. One who announced he was opening up his recruitment was three-star athlete Tanner Ingle, who told the Orlando Sentinel he had already spoken with Jones. "I know Coach Jones will be successful moving forward, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors". During his time as head coach, he led Tennessee to a 34-27 record and took the Vols to three-straight bowl games.

The move comes after Tennessee's 50-17 loss to Mizzou on Saturday night.

Brady Hoke is expected to be named as interim coach.

Jones' squad has been outscored 206-79 in six league games this season.

Hoke is in his first year at Tennessee. "Currie said Sunday that the buyout for the entire staff is in the "$13 million range", though that figure could be mitigated depending on when and where Jones and his assistants are able to find work. Jones went 3-0 in bowl games with the Vols.

However, Jones did help produce nine National Football League draft picks during his Tennessee tenure and his players collected 18 All-SEC awards and 108 received SEC Academic Honor Roll honors.

The Vols were not only unable to improve or hold serve on the results of the past two seasons, but took a major step back this year. Previously, Butch was the head coach at the University of Cincinnati and was also the head coach at Central Michigan.

Tennessee's Interm Head Coach Is? One month later, Tennessee lost 29-26 at Kentucky, which represented just the second time the Vols had fallen to the Wildcats in their last 33 meetings. And now, the football program is looking for its fourth head coach in nine years.

The Tigers amassed a whopping 659 yards of total offense, including a massive 433 yards on the ground.

As we discussed this morning, The University of Tennessee is exercising its right to terminate your employment and your Employment Agreement, as amended by Amendment 1 fully executed on December 10, 2014 and Amendment 2 fully executed on December 15, 2015, (collectively, the "Agreement"), without cause pursuant to Article III, Section 3.1 of the Agreement. How clear could it be that Tennessee was completely outmatched and Jones needed to be dismissed?
