New West Ham boss Moyes has 'point to prove'

"I have probably got one of the best win records in the Premier League".

In his unveiling video on West Ham's Twitter account, Moyes attempted to rally the fans, saying: "I'm really looking forward to meeting the supporters, being in the stadium with them". But I have always only ever wanted to be involved with attacking, entertaining football.

West Ham sacked Slaven Bilic on Monday after a poor start to the season and the Croat later admitted that he has no hard feelings towards the club and understands the board's decision.

Bilic would be a popular figure to replace Kocaman, but It's now unknown whether he would want another hard challenge after his experience at West Ham.

Alvaro Arbeloa tweeted "better late than never" as the news broke that the struggling London club had chose to part ways with the manager who guided them to a seventh-placed finish two seasons ago.

He had brief spells at Real Sociedad and Sunderland and media reports said he was West Ham's first choice to replace Bilic.

As impressive as Moyes' 11-year stint at Everton was - with nine top-eight finishes and having guided the club into the UEFA Champions League qualifiers in 2005 - he knows he can not dine out on that forever.

But he says he and joint chairman David Sullivan will sit down with Moyes to discuss the areas the Scot believes needs improving. But after Saturday's shambolic 4-1 home defeat by Liverpool saw them fall into the drop zone, West Ham's owners made a decision to take immediate action.

Moyes' first match in charge will come after the global break, a trip to Watford in the Premier League on November 19.

"He is highly regarded and respected within the game, and will bring fresh ideas, organisation and enthusiasm".

"I hope West Ham fans are going to see a team that is organised and disciplined", he told West Ham's official website.
