Vance Joseph on Broncos QB trouble: "Right now, everything is being explored"

Lynch, a first-round draft pick of the Broncos in 2016, lost the competition for the starting job to Siemian in August for the second straight year.

"Right now, everything is being explored (at quarterback)", Joseph told the team's radio partner, Orange and Blue Radio. "It's unfair to your team if you're not discussing that position". Brock Osweiler is Denver's other "option".

Joseph complained that Siemian made "three horrific decisions" on "three awful interceptions" in the Broncos' 29-19 loss at Kansas City on Monday night, wasting another dominant defensive effort and negating any gains made by the offense.

So is Siemian, who now has 10 interceptions on the season, still the starter? He has also been beaten out by Siemian for the starting job in each of the last two preseasons, which raises its own set of questions. His injury could be why the Broncos have stuck with Trevor Siemian this long, and Denver may just be waiting for Lynch to get fully healthy before making a switch. They even managed to force a pair of turnovers against a team that hadn't turned it over since its first offensive play of the season.

"There's high tension", Broncos cornerback Chris Harris said. Elway said during a Tuesday appearance on the Broncos' partner radio station that the team would "be fine" if Osweiler were named the starter.

Is Joseph going to change his mind so quickly?

Los Angeles Chargers hang tough, but fall to Patriots in Foxborough
The Patriots controlled the pace of the game throughout, holding possession for almost 37 minutes and notching 27 first downs. The Chargers probably aren't good enough to overcome coaching and special teams blunders against a team like the Patriots.

"Every game looks the same if you give the ball away, " Joseph said.

"Our defense played winning football", Joseph lamented after his team's third consecutive loss.

At the root of Siemian's poor play, Joseph said, are a combination of him learning a new system and pressing.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Paxton Lynch will be the option if the Broncos decide to change quarterbacks.

Paxton Lynch, who was a full participant in practice last week for the first time since injuring his throwing shoulder in a preseason game August 26, "won't be in the mix" to start Sunday, Joseph said.
