With cannabis becoming legal in more U.S. states and more countries around the world, there is not a lot of time to conduct all the necessary research before rolling.

The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention sponsors the survey.

It found that women who smoked marijuana daily had sex with a male partner an average of 7.1 times per month, compared to 6 times per month for nonsmoking women. More frequent users - those who told researchers they smoked weekly or daily - reported more sex than less frequent users.

He also said that the data compared was nearly the same in any case compared.

This is the part of the brain which turns motivation into action, and has been linked with having sex more often. They assessed these individuals' self-reported patterns of marijuana use over the previous year and their self-reported frequency of heterosexual intercourse over the previous four weeks. "If anything, it's associated with increased coital frequency", said the study's senior author, Michael Eisenberg, MD, assistant professor of urology.

But a new study claimed that not only does the average person who smokes marijuana regularly have a healthy amount of sex, they actually may have more sex than the average person who does not.

Pot users have about 20 per cent more sex than those who do not use it, reveals a study of more than 50,000 adult Americans. What's more, the link was found across all kinds of demographic groups. They included data from respondents ages 25-45 and excluded a small percentage (fewer than 3 percent) of respondents who had failed to answer one or more relevant questions.

In all, 24.5 percent of men and 14.5 percent of women reported having used cannabis, and the data show a positive correlation between frequency of marijuana consumption and frequency of sex. "However, the fact that the association persists for all the subgroups - age, marital status, education, religion, etc. - suggests that there may be some biological explanation".

For instance, people who are naturally inclined to have more frequent sex may be predisposed to marijuana use, rather than the other way around.

However, Eisenberg cautioned that the study should not be misinterpreted as having proven a causal link. Therefore, the study has suggested that the finding does not imply that people who are less inhibited have more sex or use drugs.
