As the name implies, this feature updates the game to all users on their latest versions, which is useful for users who have multiple profiles on one system. It was a long time coming, and a necessary step to bring the Switch closer in line with the PS4 and Xbox One. It turns out that the Switch is now compatible with Gamecube controllers. What's particularly noteworthy here is that while GameCube controllers only worked for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U on the previous Nintendo console, GameXplain has observed that the old-generation gamepads will operate on most current Switch games.

"What I can tell you is that we are working on things that go in that direction", Koizumi said, referencing a potential Switch-GameCube connection.

It must be noted that earlier in 2017, the support for the GameCube controller in the Switch was also discovered, but the functionality was very limited. Is there a new Smash title in the works? Plus if people like using it for Smash Bros. maybe they'll start using it for games like Pokken Tournament. While this may not seem like a big deal for the casual audience, as often enough, they are just happy to play the game regardless of their controller.

Another theory is that the long-awaited GameCube Virtual Console's arrival is imminent. Though we would prefer that Nintendo clearly list all of the features that each firmware update brings to the table, being able to now use GameCube controllers with the Switch is a pleasant surprise. What is nice about the implementation on the Switch is that support is not limited to a single game.
