The Lego set was originally proposed by MIT News deputy editor Maia Weinstock on the Ideas platform previous year, and quickly made its way to the 10,000 mark needed for official project approval by Lego.

Lego's new "Women of NASA" sets come complete with replica space shuttles and telescopes for little feminist girls and boys.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology News Deputy Editor submitted the idea of the "Women in Nasa" set through the Lego Ideas initiative, USA Today reported.

A few more images of the set are below, and be sure to pick one up for yourself in November - there's truly no better way to unwind than with the combination of female empowerment and a good ol' Lego set. It also comes with miniature vignettes depicting moments in NASA history that these fantastic women made possible. Hamilton, who led the team that developed software for the Apollo moon mission, can be placed in a diorama with a stack of books containing the Apollo Guidance Computer code. Roman, an astronomer who's considered the Mother of Hubble for her work in building the Hubble Space Telescope, comes with the Hubble telescope and a projected photo of planetary nebula.

"Every detail was important and needed to match reality, since they represent real-life women".
