"Looking forward to directing and producing the incredibly talented Michael B. Jordan in Creed 2 next year... one more round!" Now it seems that the studio has made a big step in locking Stallone in as helmer and producer.

Creed began the spinoff series based upon the script co-written by Aaron Covington and Ryan Coogler.

Released in 2015, Creed focused not on Rocky but on the son of another boxing champion, Apollo Creed, who went from nemesis to manager and friend over the course of four films. Rocky Balboa himself, Sylvester Stallone, has announced he will helm the much-anticipated sequel.

Yes, that's right - in a picture posted from his official Instagram account, Stallone declared that he'd be directing Creed 2 himself, with Michael B. Jordan returning as Adonis Creed.

Sylvester Stallone is jumping back in the ring for round two. That changed when director Ryan Coogler brought the idea of Creed to Stallone, and the results earned Stallone an Academy Award nomination.

As much as we love the original Rocky films, they had some silly moments (like the robot butler in Rocky IV) that should probably be avoided in Creed 2 and any potential sequels.

He has since teased the return of Ivan Drago, Rocky's Russian competitor in Rocky IV. Besides, it's not like Coogler hasn't moved on to greener pastures, and you can see him work wonders in Black Panther next year.
