Hatton became the first man to retain the Dunhill title - and only the second to win it twice - as he coasted to a final round 66 for a three shot margin of victory on 24-under aggregate of 264 - beating his own record from his victory past year by a shot.

Hatton entered the day at 18-under, five ahead of playing partner Grégory Bourdy. A two-under finish on St. Andrew's trio of closing par-4s would have given Fisher the magic number, but he'd have to "settle" for the oldest course record in the world with a 61.

DAVID Howell had a disastrous third day at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship as he finished 10 over for the day, carding a round of 82.

Last week he was also looking in contention for the British Masters title at Close House near Newcastle, but let slip a three shot lead at the halfway stage to finish tied for eighth place.

Hatton's game stands up to that of any of his contemporaries, such as Tommy Fleetwood and Matthew Fitzpatrick, so if he can feel better on the course then it can only help him fulfil his potential. Maybe that's just a bit more pressure on myself but I'm so happy that I managed to defend it and what a great week again. A year ago was a new experience for me going out leading a tournament and I managed to do a really good job. "We've just had good fun, I think that is what this tournament is about".

The Astros are completely dominating the Red Sox in the ALDS
Houston came to play in Game 2 when Carlos Correa had a 4-RBI showing that included his two-run home run and a two-run double. Houston starting pitchers combined to post a 4.03 ERA, third-best in the AL, with a staff ERA of 4.12, fifth-best.

"Unfortunately I've got to sign for a 61 but I'll definitely take it".

France's Victor Dubuisson, who had entertained hopes of a record himself at one point, finished along in third after a 63, with Robert Rock and Scot Marc Warren in fourth.

It was also a three shot lead for the winning team of Kieran Mcmanus & Jamie Donaldson, who shot 40-under-par through the 4 days of competition.

"It was fun", Fisher said in his post-round press conference.

Playing his first event since becoming a father for the first time last week, Fleetwood birdied six of the last eight holes to complete a bogey-free round and beat the course record by a shot.

Donaldson, who pocketed a cheque for 50,000 U.S. dollars, had nine birdies and an 18th hole eagle on his card for a 72 hole score of 40-under-par, winning by three from Robert Rock and Westlife singer Brian McFadden, Victor Dubuisson and Shantanu Narayen, who had a hole-in-one in round three, and Yikeun Chang and Erwee Botha.

Jack Nicklaus has spoken on the golf ball for years, with a strong opinion that today's version goes too far.

"So this old man is just trying to show them that I'm not over the hill yet".
