The Giants announced Monday that Beckham will have surgery for his broken left ankle later this week, and his season officially ended when he was put on injured reserve later in the day along with fellow receiver Dwayne Harris.

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. requires surgery to fix his fractured ankle.

Beckham suffered a broken bone in his left ankle, believed to be an isolated fibula fracture, during Sunday's game against the Chargers and he will have surgery to fix it this week. Watt is another National Football League superstar who is done for the year, as he fractured his tibial plateau on Sunday.

The team announced on its Twitter account that Beckham would undergo a surgery on the ankle he fractured during Sunday's 27-22 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in which the wideout had to be carted off the field.

OBJ will play under the fifth-year option on his rookie contract next season before reaching free agency in 2019.

Diamondbacks have no answers for Dodgers in sweep
It was the Dodgers defeating the Arizona Diamondbacks , 3-1, to win their National League division series three games to none. Good, just not great results - a fate Goldschmidt and the D-backs now must take into a long winter, as the Dodgers march on.

Huskers can't keep momentum against Badgers
Wisconsin ran on eight of 10 plays in a 93-yard drive for the go-ahead touchdown with Quintez Cephus scoring on a five-yard pass. Cornhuskers QB Tanner Lee's tipped-ball interception in the first quarter was his 10th in six games, tops in FBS.

Meryl Streep's full statement on Harvey Weinstein
He tweeted: "If even 1/10th of the stories about Harvey Weinstein are true (and I believe they are), then good f**king riddance". Last week, Weinstein was accused of a series of sexual harassments and assaults by a number of women over a number of decades.

He ends his year with just 18 catches for 154 yards and zero touchdowns.

Another awful blow to the Giants' offense. Sterling Shepard won't need surgery for his sprained ankle but he may not be able to against the Broncos, either.

Australian punter Lachlan Edwards had another strong game for New York Jets, punting six times for an average of 43.5 yards and a long of 62 in their 17-14 victory over the winless Cleveland Browns.

Kansas City remained undefeated in a game in which Houston star J.J. Watt broke his left leg. Coach Sean McDermott said Clay will miss "multiple weeks". The team is also re-signing receiver Tavarres King to its active roster.

It was particularly painful for fans as Beckham had done much to rejuvenate the team's stumbling fortunes early on in the game.
