White House on Tillerson: 'The president can't undercut his own Cabinet'

Trump had been speaking to reporters following a meeting with senior military leaders at the White House Thursday evening, when all of a sudden he looked around the room and said, "you guys know what this represents, maybe it's the calm before the storm".

Of course, given that Trump today stole contraception coverage from likely millions of women, and stole civil rights protections from LGBT people by prioritizing religious rights, some might call that the storm too. "A lot of times you have opinions that are being presented as news, and they're not".

Don't panic: President Donald Trump's spokeswoman says he's got the planet under control.

"We're gonna continue doing that - we're gonna continue doing that as a team with the president leading that effort".

Moments later during the briefing, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders rebuffed question after question probing the meaning of the president's seemingly ominous warning.

Pressed on whether or not the public should take Trump's comments seriously, Sanders responded that the American people could take the president's commitment to national security seriously.

The comments from lawmakers including No. 2 Senate Republican John Cornyn of Texas mark a surprising departure from the GOP's general antipathy to gun regulations of any kind. "I'm not aware of anything specific that that was in reference to". "And we're not going to announce what actions we'll be taking until that moment comes". I'd never heard of them before the Las Vegas shooting, but since learning about them I've seen no good reason for them and think they should be banned too.

For the third day in a row, media outlets are filled with stories about how Tillerson has fallen out of standing with Trump and that the White House is seeking his replacement.

Trump, who earlier said Iran had "not lived up to the spirit" of the nuclear deal, was expected to "decertify" and denounce the controversial accord as not being in the USA national interest, passing the issue to Congress. Trump recently threatened to "totally destroy" the rogue country if it attacks the USA or its allies.

On Thursday, Sanders was even clearer that Trump had no magic wand, saying the procedures to deal with the debt were put in place during the Obama administration "and it will go through that process as we move forward".

He also pledged to "do what we must do to prevent that from happening and it will be done, if necessary".
