The Gators didn't seem prepared for that kind of adjustment at all.

LSU's success running the ball made quarterback Danny Etling's job that much easier. The Gators were unsuccessful in moving the ball past midfield and forced to punt.

On one fourth-quarter drive, Florida redshirt freshman quarterback Feleipe Franks found sophomore receiver Freddie Swain on a crossing pattern on third-and-three, but Swain failed to turn upfield and came up a yard shot. Zach Von Rosenberg boomed a 48-yarder that was downed at the Florida 4-yard line.

Kadarius Toney came into the game and rushed for four yards. Instead, Florida gave up a 30-yard touchdown run to wideout Russell Gage in the first quarter and was stuck playing from behind for the rest of the afternoon.

On fourth-and-3 from the 25, Franks again looked for Powell, but had his pass knocked down by LSU linebacker Devin White, sealing a painful defeat.
