National Basketball Association to change All-Star Game from East vs. West to playground rules

The league said Tuesday the two starters with the highest fan vote totals from each conference will choose teams from the pool of players who were voted as starters and reserves.

Changes are coming to the NBA All-Star Game this season, tweaks that ought to make the annual exhibition more watchable. In total, there will still be 12 All-Stars from each conference. "We're looking forward to putting on an entertaining show in L.A.", Paul said.

The captains for both teams will each be the All-Star starter from each conference who gets the most fan votes. The new rules mean it's still possible we could see Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James on the same All-Star team next year.
