If there's one name out of the three new featured players you might be familiar, it's Chris Redd.

It came down to the wire, but Saturday Night Live, coming off a highly rated season and big Emmy wins, has selected its new cast members and writers for the upcoming 43rd season.

Though all three of the newcomers are up-and-coming comedians, Chris Redd is perhaps the most recognizable, having starred alongside former SNL cast member Andy Samberg in the Lonely Island mockumentary Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping in 2016. Still around is Kenan Thompson, who has surpassed Darrell Hammond as the longest-running cast member with fifteen seasons.

Saturday Night Live announced on Tuesday their latest crop of Not Ready for Primetime Players, and Chicago comedy hounds will recognize a couple of familiar faces among the lineup: Chicago native Chris Redd and Luke Null. Check out some of Redd's previous work on Netflix's Disjointed, Love and Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later.

Gardner found her comedic roots in Los Angeles' sketch and improv comedy troupe, The Groundlings (other notable graduates of Groundlings include SNL veterans like Kristen Wiig, Will Forte, Maya Rudolph, and Will Ferrell).
