The Sunday's photo revelation by Russian MoD comes just before the death of Lieutenant-General Valery Asapov in Syria which Moscow says "is the price Russia was forced to pay for hypocritical U.S. policy".

"Syrian regime forces were twice targeted with massive fire from mortar launchers and rocket artillery from areas east of the Euphrates river where SDF forces and United States special forces are", Igor Konashenkov said in a statement.

The Russian Defense Ministry released aerial footage of the Daesh (ISIS) positions north of Syria's city of Deir ez-Zor that showed the U.S. equipment deployed in the area.

On Sept. 16, the SDF said a Russian airstrike wounded six of its fighters, but Moscow denied carrying out the attack.

Reuters notes that the SDF positions in question were near a natural gas field recently captured from the Islamic State.

At least seven Russian soldiers have been killed, and Russia's Defense Ministry acknowledged that one of its generals was killed in the area on Sunday.

U.S. special forces are also thought to operate in the area.

A tragic tale of ethnic cleansing!
Security forces say the bodies are among about 100 Hindus missing since ARSA attacked at least 30 police outposts August 25. Others have complained of being attacked by the insurgents on suspicion of being government spies.

Key GOP Swing Vote On Health Care: 'Difficult To Envision' Supporting Bill

McCain Will Vote Against New Obamacare Repeal Bill
Plus, the Arizona governor and Arizona's Republican junior senator, Jeff Flake, came out in support of the legislation, he noted. Graham is McCain's best friend in the Senate, but the Arizona Republican said he couldn't support the bill in good conscience.

Counter-Islamic State coalition spokesman U.S. Army Col. Ryan Dillon told VOA that initial reports could not confirm whether there were any casualties.

"Russian airstrikes and mortar fire hit the Conoco gas plant where a large number of our forces are stationed", SDF spokesperson Lilwa Abdallah said.

According to Russian media, at the beginning of the month, two Russian "contract soldiers" were killed by ISIS in Deir al-Zor. Together with Asapov, that brings the overall death toll of Russian servicemen in Syria to 37.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also reported the shelling, saying two civilians have been killed.

Earlier this week, Syrian troops crossed into parts of east bank but have concentrated their operations mostly on the west. The convergence of the rival offensives has raised tensions in Deir al-Zor.

"Facing no resistance of the Isis militants, the SDF units are advancing along the left shore of the Euphrates towards Deir Ezzor".
