Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck will be out for at least three weeks after injuring his groin at the weekend.

But he was forced out of Sunday's 0-0 draw with Chelsea after picking up what appeared to be a groin injury in the 73rd minute.

Wenger confirmed after the match that he did not know the severity of the issue but did not believe it to be particularly bad.

The striker misses tomorrow's Carabao Cup clash with Doncaster at the Emirates Stadium, and also next week's Premier League clash with West Brom.

"People forget that two months ago we beat Chelsea in the Cup final and they don't give you the Cup, you know", said the Frenchman, who has seen his team respond positively to a 4-0 drubbing at Anfield prior to the first worldwide break of the season.

Panthers TE Olsen leaves game with foot injury
GETTING HIS KICKS: Gano was locked in a kicking battle in the preseason, but is 6 for 6 on field goal attempts so far this season. But the Panthers wound up with field goals instead of touchdowns, and the pressure eventually started to get to them.

Midfielder Francis Coquelin will also be sidelined until after the global break as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury sustained during the 3-0 win over Bournemouth.

However, Wenger also confirmed that a number of first-team regulars will not feature due to fitness problems, rather than simply being rested, with both Danny Welbeck and Mesut Ozil ruled out. He is suffering with 'knee inflammation'. In his first game back, he scored the victor against eventual Premier League champions Leicester City just minutes after coming on.

Wenger revealed English duo Calum Chambers and Jack Wilshere are in line to play. Santi Cazorla remains Arsenal's only long-term absentee and is not expected to return until after Christmas.

"Yes [it will be a mix], but it will be a similar team to the one that played against Cologne".
