Ronald Koeman apologises for not preparing Everton ahead of Atalanta clash

Everton were handed an extremely hard start to the domestic campaign but performances haven't been up to the standard expected of a team that is hoping to compete near the top of the Premier League table.

After being marginalized last season in Mourinho's first year in charge, Rooney _ a player who always takes the field feeling he has a point to prove _ will be determined to show he can still cut it on the highest stage.

The 50 Premier League matches between these sides so far have mustered an average of 2.76 goals per game, and it is fairly likely that the strikes will flow - at least for the hosts.

Everton supporters are now calling for Koeman to be removed as manager as the team have started the season in poor form.
