Hurricane Harvey alone caused upwards of $200 billion in financial losses and Hand in Hand organizers are now evaluating the need for funds in communities struck by Hurricane Irma days later.

Stephen Colbert announced Apple had donated $5 million to the cause and Jimmy Fallon said Albertsons Cos. and Merck had each kicked in $1 million. ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, HBO, MTV, BET and Univision were among the networks carrying the program, which was also streamed online.

The hourlong special, live from Los Angeles with stages in NY and Nashville, will include performances, appearances, and taped messages from Sean "Diddy" Combs, Ellen DeGeneres, Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Drake, Jimmy Fallon, Tom Hanks, Nicole Kidman, Oprah Winfrey, and more.

The money will go towards helping the victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, the back-to-back Category 4 storms that have destroyed much of Texas and Florida over the past two weeks.

You can watch their performance (and the whole event) here. "So tonight we come together in a collective effort to raise our voices, to help our communities, to life our spirits, and heal". There, Matthew McConaughey gave a stirring speech before introducing George Strait.

Multiple charities will receive proceeds from the telethon, including the Mayor's Fund for Hurricane Harvey, United Way of Greater Houston, Feeding Texas, and Habitat for Humanity.
