There's no guarantee that Colts fans will see Luck in action any time soon, but it also gives the team greater flexibility-should Luck be able to return before Week 6.

Indianapolis has been playing it coy when it comes to Luck, who had surgery in January on his throwing shoulder and was finally activated from the physically unable to perform list.

Luck has been on the PUP list since training Camp started at the end of July. The Colts owner fought back reports that Indianapolis mishandled their quarterback's injury by allowing him to play with a torn labrum in his shoulder for the whole 2016 season.

Steely Dan guitarist Walter Becker dies aged 67
Between 1972 and 1980 Steely Dan released eight albums , each of which were critical and commercial successes. Fagen described his bandmate as "cynical about human nature, including his own, and hysterically amusing ".

The Colts answered it when they elevated Luck to the active roster from PUP later Saturday afternoon. "But let me be clear about it: in our own minds, it's something we haven't ruled out". It was only after the fourth preseason game, 10 days before the season opener, that Colts owner Jim Irsay admitted to Indianapolis beat reporters that Luck "most likely" would not be ready for the September 10 season opener against the Rams. The Colts wouldn't have played Tolzien in the fourth preseason game - which is often for players trying to make a last impression for a roster spot - if they believed he was completely ready for the regular season.

Speaking to reporters Thursday (via Zak Keefer of the Indianapolis Star), Irsay said Luck's "timetable is more on the football gods and Andrew's gut feeling on how he's feeling". "It's just that I don't know exactly when that date's going to be, '" Irsay said.
