Swift announced the news in a series of images posted on her social media accounts Wednesday. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Every Taylor Swift album comes with a new era, a new ~lewk~ if you will. Speak Now brings to mind Princess gowns, Red conjures up Swift in Americana stripes, while1989 reminds us of Swift and 15 friends parading down the catwalk of her stage. She's releasing her first single Thursday night.

In a related development, Swift is rumored to be appearing at the MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday, where her one-time rival Katy Perry is also slated to perform and to release her new video for "Swish Swish", the diss track aimed at Swift.

Swift was in the news for other reasons in recent weeks, successfully fending off a lawsuit against radio personality David Mueller after she accused of groping her during a photo shoot. She's set to end any feuds. but on her terms!

The superstar took to social media on August 23 to announce the news in three successive posts. Swift, you better be ready.
