On Aug. 21, a total solar eclipse will touch the USA mainland for the first time since 1979, following a path that crosses the country from Salem, Oregon to Charleston, South Carolina. This occurs because the sun is still shining in areas that are not in the path of totality.

Fourteen states will see the path of totality. The approximately 70-mile wide path will start in OR and end in SC. A lot of these small towns don't have the resources to host a huge influx of eclipse-viewers, so it's a good idea to bring any supplies you absolutely have to have (e.g., coffee) and fill up on gas on the road, before you arrive.

A team of NASA scientists also recently participated in a Reddit Ask Me Anything session, and we must say some of the questions people asked them were a bit on the wacky side.

You can see the show on Slooh's website or on its Facebook page. "By worldwide standards, they are so black when you put them on you can not see any light, through these you look at the sun it's a little orange ball".

"Totality" is when the moon completely blocks out the sun.

"Be aware that you could get blindsided by a blatant scam when you purchase eclipse glasses", Madigan said in the press release.

Although it is never a good idea to stare at the sun at anytime, there is an increase in damage during an eclipse because viewers cannot feel the damage happening. But sunlight is still sunlight, and your eyes need to be protected. Every park in the city will have festivities going on at the time of the eclipse as well.

CBO: Ending cost-sharing reduction payments will increase premiums, federal deficit
The HHS memo says "there have been no changes regarding HHS's ability to make cost-sharing reduction payments to insurers". Most policyholders wouldn't feel the pain because higher subsides would cover the increase premiums.

FOX31 will have an hour-long eclipse newscast Monday at 11 a.m., showing the eclipse in Colorado, Wyoming, and across the county. Also, please visit NASA's Official Eclipse viewing location map for more information about the viewing at the Sports and Fitness Center and other events taking place around the country. During a new phase, the moon isn't visible because the illuminated side of the moon faces away from the Earth. The millions of folks who live outside this narrow band will experience various stages of a partial solar eclipse, meaning the moon will only block out a portion of the sun.

Residents and visitors of Greenville will experience two minutes and ten seconds of the eclipse at 2:38 p.m. EST.

This one is a solar eclipse. So this must mean solar eclipses are rare, right?

So in Charleston, South Carolina people are going to a get a bonafide 100 percent solar eclipse. That's the last time a solar eclipse went coast to coast.
