The software engineer who was sacked from Google for circulating a good-faith argument about diversity published a column in the Wall Street Journal on Thursday, Aug. 10, likening the tech giant's workplace culture to a cult where free speech is stifled and violators are punished. Damore said he shared the missive, titled "Google's Ideological Echo Chamber", about a month ago with specific individuals and groups focused on diversity before posting it to a mailing list called "skeptics" on August 2.

"There was no outcry or charge of misogyny".

That changed, he claimed, when "those most zealously committed to the diversity creed" wrote "angry emails" to Google's human resources department and Damore's managers.

Ads criticizing Google over firing James Damore have been plastered on benches and bus stops near the company's office in Venice. Having these views challenged can be painful, so we tend to avoid people with differing values and to associate with those who share our values. "We should recognize that some women are different than men in these ways", Damore said.

"For many, including myself, working at Google is a major part of their identity, nearly like a cult with its own leaders and saints, all believed to righteously uphold the sacred motto of 'Don't be evil, ' he wrote".

Glen Campbell Dies and the Tributes Pour In
By the mid-1990s he'd taken up residence at the Glen Campbell Goodtime Theatre in Branson, Mo., where he performed regularly. In a statement issued Tuesday night to his official Facebook, Urban paid tribute to someone he considered his "role model".

The way Damore expressed his opinions and pushed discriminatory conclusions runs counter to a free idea exchange. He wrote that public shaming serves as a warning that punishment awaits those who don't conform to the ideological beliefs of the majority.

Echo chambers maintain themselves by creating a shared spirit and keeping discussion confined within certain limits. "Google had to solve the problem caused by my supposedly sexist, anti-diversity manifesto".

Google's Mountain View headquarters, along with other USA offices of the company, will be targeted in the August 19 event, Posobiec said. The memo sparked a heated debate; however, the firing of Damore for voicing his thoughts on the issue may have ignited an even bigger one.

Damore, who has emerged as a hero of conservative media, stands by his memo, saying he considered it a "reasoned, well-researched, good-faith argument". In the days since his firing, Damore chose to give his first major interviews to two right-wing YouTube personalities: Stefan Molyneux, and Jordan B. Peterson.

Google's liberal stance toward self-expression, enabled by those online forums, was created in part to show that it is not bound by the conventions that stifle more stodgy companies.
