A little over a week ago, President Donald Trump announced on Twitter that the USA military would no longer let transgender people serve in the military, reversing the policy established by former President Barrack Obama.

A Gallup poll from August 1 shows similar levels of negative sentiment.

The Rasmussen poll was conducted between the 30 July and 1 August, and is a fresh blow to the embattled president.

All of that helped push Trump's approval to a record low in this poll.

"Voters say a soldier is a soldier, no matter what his/her gender identity is", Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac poll, said in a statement released with the survey results.
