In a big jolt to Samajwadi party in Uttar Pradesh, two of its MLCs Bukkal Nawab and Yashwant Singh today tendered their resignation from the Legislative Council amid possibilities of joining BJP in the state.

There were reports that senior leaders tried to contact their respective MLCs - Bukkal Nawab and Yashwant Singh from SP and Thakur Jaiveer Singh from BSP - but in vain.Speculations about the three MLCs drifting towards BJP didn't seem to be unfounded.

President Amit Shah on Saturday said that the aim of all the party workers and leaders should be to make it "invincible".

Founder president of Rashtriya Shia Samaj, Bukkal Nawab joined the SP in 1992.

"I am feeling very suffocated since last one-year".

Madhukar Jaitley, also a close aide of Mulayam, was a state minister level functionary in the SP government and was advisor to Akhilesh on externally aided projects, including Lucknow Metro.

The MLC while saying that more resignations from SP are in queue appreciated the PM's slogan "Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas".

After meeting party office-bearers, the BJP National President Ami Shah expressed concern over growing gap between party and the government and directed UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to bridge the gap immediately. Nawab also questioned how Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav can be with the people when he is not even with his own father.

Former chief minister and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav accused the BJP of being behind the resignations of his party MLCs.

"Yogi is also doing a good job in the state; at least there has not been any scam yet".

Notably, along with CM Adityanath and his deputies Keshav Prasad Maurya, Dinesh Sharma and two BJP UP ministers Swatantra Deo Singh and Mohsin Raja have to acquire the membership of the either of the two Houses by August to remain members of the UP cabinet.

Talking about Nitish Kumar joining hands with the BJP in Bihar, Akhilesh Yadav mocked at Bihar CM and said,"People who spoke about DNA, now joined NDA".

With the two MLCs resigning from the House, it would be now easier for them to enter the House without contesting the Assembly polls.

One BSP MLC Jay Veer Singh also resigned from his membership of Upper house.
