WhatsApp previous year announced that it has reached one billion monthly active users and now the chat app has hit another landmark of having one billion active users daily. At that time the messaging service had 450 million monthly users and, daily monthly users were at 350 million.

Despite WhatsApp's move to adopt end-to-end encryption by default for its billion users around the world, rights groups have termed the policies of the instant messaging app too weak to protect user privacy from governments. Per day WhatsApp users share around 1 billion videos and 4.5 billion photos.

Surprising thing is that 250 million people are using WhatsApp Status on daily basis. The company has been reported to make a separate app for business users as well. These media files include photos, videos, etc.

After announcing Messenger had 1.2 billion monthly users this April, Facebook's head of Messenger, David Marcus told TechCrunch it had seen "double-digit growth percentage-wise" in terms of messages sent per user on Messenger. The application now supports 60 languages across the globe. As you might have already guessed, these numbers are really great and these are only increasing as we write this.
