Ezekiel Elliott could face 'short suspension'

There were no charges filed for the 2016 incident in which Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was accused of allegedly beating a woman with whom he had a sexual relationship.

Despite a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter that Ezekiel Elliott is bracing for a possible suspension from the National Football League, the Dallas Cowboys front office is reportedly unaware of any impending suspension.

Elliott burst onto the scene as one of the league's brightest young stars past year. There were at least four witnesses who stated they saw no assault take place and the steam from the incident seemed to die down, but the National Football League refused to let go. Of course, the fact that Elliott wasn't charged with anything does complicate matters.
