Though Spider-Man made a major impact in a short time during that film's climactic airport battle, we've yet to see the character get the spotlight he deserves in the MCU. Star Tom Holland recently opened up about the villains he wants to face in the Homecoming sequel.

But did the MCU set up "Spider-Man: Homecoming" long before we initially thought? Homecoming sees the webbed wonder return to screens following his initial Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Captain America: Civil War a year ago.

"I think it might feel bigger a little bit because of Homecoming and because of what people know from it, but it's about on par with [Civil War]", Feige said.

"Once this all calms down for a second and then I'm gonna see what my perspective is but right now I feel like I'm still swinging through the air", Watts says about Spider-Man's future. "And then, what we do is we go in and then just sort of clean it up".
