Pakistani PM hopes for swift solution to crisis over Qatar

The comments were in reaction to remarks by Qatar Airways' chief executive that Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain were violating worldwide law by shutting out Qatari flights.

Qatar denies allegations it supports terrorism and has vowed to not give up its independent foreign policy. Natural gas exports may help Qatar protect it in the ongoing dispute it has with other Arab nations. Erdo─čan rejected accusations that Qatar supported terrorism, arguing that the country had been a staunch opponent of ISIL.

Erdogan said that he would hold a joint phone call Tuesday with the leaders of France and Qatar to discuss the recent developments of Qatar issues.

"By mid-July, it will cover one- third of Qatar's demand", Al Khayyat said.

Arab countries, led by Saudi Arabia, have called on Qatar to end its support for Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood - both terrorist adversaries of Israel. "It's as if a death penalty decision has been taken for Qatar", Erdogan said.

On Sunday Qatar Airways reported a 21.7% rise in net profit in its last financial year that ended in March, fuelled by a strategy of investment and expansion.

So while Qatar can still buy perishables from the U.S., for example, it is experiencing difficulty physically getting the goods to the country.

He said European countries, including France, were trying to ease tensions in support of Kuwait's mediation efforts, and he believed that the United States, which was also backing mediation, wanted restrictions on Doha to be lifted.

An embargo has also cut off food, transport and other links between the four countries and Qatar, which typically imports around 80 percent of its food from its neighbors.

The agreement does not contain any specific number of troops to be stationed in the base, or a date for deployment.

The ban does not apply to aviation companies and aircraft not registered in Qatar and the three neighbouring countries, and which wish to cross their airspace to and from Qatar, they said.
