Not mentioned in here is Stepan's pending NTC, which kicks in July 1.

"A lot of the guys in NY always say that I X-and-O it up too much", Stepan said.

He had 17 goals and 38 assists in 81 games with the Rangers last season and has scored 53 or more points in each of his last four seasons. In addition, he was by far the most defensively responsible center on the team, especially when paired with several wingers who were not.

FILE - In this March 12, 2017, file photo, New York Rangers goalie Antti Raanta (32) plays against the Detroit Red Wings in the second period of an NHL hockey game, in Detroit. As a UFA after the season, Raanta will be the top netminder in Arizona playing for a new contract. They only have 2 centermen on the roster in Kevin Hayes and Mika Zibanejad, and now need a backup goaltender and improvements to the blue line.

NY now has a ton of cap room. If they do, they can move Brad Richardson up to the top nine and sign restricted free agent Nick Cousins to man the fourth line.

Stepan joins the Coyotes with four years remaining on a contract that pays him $6.5 million per season. He might play in Europe next season, and if he leaves, that bumps the cap space available to $16.2 million. General manager Marc Bergevin said there is a limit on what the Canadiens will give the 39-year-old veteran defenseman.

'I was frozen': Cosby accuser says she was drugged, groped
Cosby, sitting across the room at the defense table, leaned in to listen, whispered to his lawyer and, at times, shook his head. Constand, who is from the Toronto area, met Cosby while working for the women's basketball team at Temple, Cosby's alma mater.

The Rangers now have both the No. 7 and the No. 21 overall picks in the first round of the amateur draft on Friday. Unclear is if they will keep those picks or package them for a player, maybe to try and get Alex Galchenyuk or Matt Duchene, though the prices for each may be through the room.

The 21-year-old DeAngelo - a native of Sewell, New Jersey - was the 19th overall pick by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2014 before being traded to Arizona last year.

DeAngelo burst onto the scene last season with Arizona scoring some clutch goals and going on quite the hot streak before cooling down.

With the fan base reeling a bit and the future looking uncertain - on the ice as well as where they'll play - the Coyotes made a pair of eye-opening moves before the draft got started. If it weren't for character concerns in his draft year, DeAngelo likely would have been taken much higher than 19th. I don't love dealing Raanta with Lundqvist aging, despite knowing what Allaire has down in the past.

In Stepan, the Coyotes filled a slot that they have arguably been looking to fill since Jeremy Roenick left town in 2001.
