Tottenham's first Premier League game at Wembley will be an early test of their title credentials as they take on defending champions Chelsea.

In the other opening-day fixtures, Manchester United host West Ham, Manchester City travel to newly promoted Brighton, Liverpool face Watford and Spurs are at Newcastle.

While Chelsea may matter more to Mauricio Pochettino and his players, Arsenal will always be the biggest game of the season for Tottenham fans.

Runners-up Tottenham start away from home for the seventh successive season.

The first Manchester derby of the season at Old Trafford is scheduled for December 9, the week after United have travelled to Arsenal, while the first meeting of the campaign between the Red Devils and Liverpool is on October 14.

Brighton's penultimate fixtures sees Manchester United visit the Amex on 5th May, while the Seagulls will meet Liverpool at Anfield on the final day six days later. The traditional December matches are also tough, with a Manchester Derby, a game against Tottenham and a trip to Championship winners Newcastle.

West Ham's first home game is scheduled for August 19 against Southampton but the stadium won't be ready to host soccer matches at that time.

The first north London derby takes place at Emirates Stadium on the weekend of November 18/19.

After going to Anfield on August 26, Arsenal go to Chelsea on September 16 and City on November 4 - both after playing Europa League games on Thursday night.
