Ticket sold in California wins Powerball lottery jackpot worth $448.7 million

Numbers were drawn for Saturday's Powerball jackpot, worth an estimated $447.8 million.

The lucky numbers drawn on Saturday night are 20-26-32-38-58, and the Powerball number is 3.

A person or family in Sun City has become almost $448 million richer after buying a winning Powerball ticket, according to lottery officials. Deadline to purchase tickets is 9:45 p.m.

The last Powerball drawing to produce a jackpot victor was on 1 April, said California Lottery spokesman Mike Bond.

Saturday night's drawing will be for the estimated $435 million jackpot.

Powerball is held in 44 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

The cash prize would be $273.1 million. Good luck. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292 million.

With fewer winners, the jackpot has the chance to grow bigger week after week. All of them say that the profits provide billions in funding to schools and other social programs.

The lump sum payout for the winning ticket would be $279.1 million.
