The U.S. Coast Guard is searching near the Bahamas for an overdue small airplane carrying four NY residents, including two children, from Puerto Rico to Florida. The plane had departed Borinquen, Puerto Rico, at about 11 a.m. Monday, and was headed for Titusville, Florida.

The passengers were identified as Jennifer Blumin and Nathan Ulrich of NY and Blumin's 4-year-old and 10-year-old sons.

The U.S. Coast Guard's seventh district, which covers the general southeast area, sent out a notice of an "overdue aircraft" on Twitter, meaning the plane went off the radar and lost communication with air traffic control officials in Miami. Lt. Cmdr. Ryan Kelly, a Coast Guard spokesman, confirmed Nathan Ulrich, 52, of Lee, New Hampshire was listed as the pilot but it was not known who was flying the plane when it disappeared.

Blumin is founder and CEO of Skylight Group, an event space firm. The couple were profiled in a 2015 New York Times article after they bought a TriBeCa loft.
