Law Enforcement Memorial Service scheduled

The president made respect for law enforcement a theme of his remarks outside the U.S. Capitol.

A wreath was placed at the Fallen Peace Officer Memorial in Sunner Park in Cedar Rapids to remember fallen officers.

"I think it's safe to say that every day is National Police Day at the Department of Justice", Fox began.

President Donald Trump proclaimed Monday, May 15, as Peace Officers Memorial Day and this entire week, as Police week.

The annual ceremony for Peace Officers Memorial Day at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. was held yesterday with some 30,000 people in attendance.

Trump also announced he will light the White House in blue on Monday night to honor fallen police officers. "The attacks on our police are a stain on the very fabric of our society".
