"We're looking at everybody. But quite frankly, yes, we are looking at all those guys".

Kaepernick led San Francisco to Super Bowl XLVII, and to the NFC championship game the following season, where they lost to the Seahawks.

Wilson has been one of the healthiest QBs in the National Football League across his career, and has still never missed a start.

NFL Media's Mike Silver reported on Monday that Seahawks GM John Schneider reached out to Kaepernick's agent last week.

"Kap is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL", Bennett said in March (via the News Tribune). Obviously he's going to be in a backup role at this point. Signed to a two-year deal worth $15 million, Griffin was named the Week 1 starter in 2016 but broke his left shoulder on a scramble in the season-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Kaepernick has the same style of play as Russell Wilson, which consists of being mobile inside the pocket and not being afraid to tuck the ball and run when the pocket collapses.

Boykin is the only backup quarterback on Seattle's roster that has attempted a pass in a regular-season game.

While "we're looking at everybody" sounds similar to the standard response Carroll often gives to questions about potential personnel moves, Kaepernick in particular seems like a real possibility. As of now, Boykin remains on the roster despite a tumultuous offseason that included an arrest for marijuana possession and public intoxication and a probation violation.
