Emma Watson Praises Genderless MTV Awards After 'Beauty' Win

The MTV Movie and TV Awards took place on Sunday, May 7, 2017, in Los Angeles, California.

Emma Watson became the first actor to win a gender-neutral award for acting at the MTV Movie and TV Awards, and she acknowledged the historic nature of the award itself in her acceptance speech.

Watson went on to praise MTV for their bold move and relayed that the award indicates that acting is the ability to put oneself in someone else's shoes without being separated according to one's gender.
