BlackBerry 10, the operating system on the handset, was the company's last real effort, and, well, we know how that worked out. The KeyOne is BlackBerry's is the company's latest offering that will define the future of the brand in this intensely competitive and insane tech market. The BlackBerry Keyone launches with Android 7.1.1 Nougat straight out of the box with BlackBerry's Security software. TCL said pre-orders in Canada will kick off May 18. From our time with the KEYone, the keyboard seems to be the well made and responsive, and with customizable shortcuts for 52 different keys, you'll certainly be able to put it to work for you.

The specifications are solid if unspectacular, but its two features that hardcore BlackBerry fans will love are its comparatively long battery life and QWERTY keyboard.

Other UK networks will also carry the new device soon, although BlackBerry could not confirm which carriers, or when it would be available.

BlackBerry Mobile has begun shipping its first post-BlackBerry phone in the United Kingdom today, although fans will need to cross their fingers and pop into Selfridges' Oxford Street store in London to find one. The battery charges to 50 percent after half an hour of charge.

So, BlackBerry is hoping that this phone not only pulls in those who still pine for a physical keyboard, but also those Android die-hards who wouldn't mind having a bit of BlackBerry flair to their phone.

Once the mobile leader in the enterprise market, BlackBerry's share has fallen dramatically since the turn of the decade as it failed to keep up with changes in demand, while Apple and Android manufacturers caught up in security and administration features.

The BlackBerry KEYone includes a 12MP rear camera with an industry leading camera sensor (Sony IMX378) that captures sharp, crisp photos in any light. There is an 8-megapixel front facing camera with a wide-angle lens and a flash module. In the U.S., the device will be available unlocked at a price of $549 (or approx Rs. 35,199) and is set to work on both CDMA and GSM networks.

The processor's a midrange Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, but from what I could tell it can hold its own. The big selling point of this phone is that signature BlackBerry keyboard.
