Oklahoma City star Russell Westbrook produced his 41st triple-double of the season on Tuesday, April 4 (Wednesday in Manila) to equal Oscar Robertson's record for most in an National Basketball Association campaign in the Thunder's 110-79 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Westbrook has recorded seven-straight triple-doubles and has now tied Oscar Robertson for the most triple-doubles in a single season with 41.

In addition to tying Robertson, Westbrook also tied Wilt Chamberlain on the all-time list with his 78th career triple-double. With 822 rebounds total, Westbrook is already guaranteed to have a double-double on the season, and he needs just 16 more assists to become the first player since Robertson in 1961-62 to average a triple-double over a full campaign.

Pacers star Paul George led the scoring with 43 points including 19 in the two periods of overtime, adding nine rebounds and nine assists.

The Bucks are 40-38 on the season with four games left to play. Next up is Bucks coach Jason Kidd, who had 107 career triple-doubles and ranks third.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Fans stood on their feet, screaming for Russell Westbrook to grab the one rebound needed to separate himself from Oscar Robertson and grab an National Basketball Association record that has stood for 55 years. "I'm not saying all the time, but clearly he's impacting the game with his rebounding, assists and scoring".

Thompson sprained his right thumb on Tuesday and was ruled out of Wednesday's (Thursday AEST) first-place showdown at Boston, ending his consecutive games played streak at 447 - a team record and the longest active stretch in the league. Oklahoma City (44-33) led by 30 after three quarters.

Westbrook now has four more games to achieve the mark, with the Thunder due to face Phoenix on Friday in their next game.

The game was marred by a shoving match between Indiana's Lance Stephenson and Raptor DeMar DeRozan with 3.3 seconds left. Harden is nearly three points behind Russ in points per game and isn't even in the top 20 in rebounding.

The game was tied at 95-all until Doug McDermott connected on a 3-pointer, earning Westbrook his 10th assist, with 1:24 left. "It doesn't matter who we play in the playoffs; it's going to be a good team, so we have to be ready". And in those moments this season, Westbrook has often delivered. The win also clinched at least the sixth seed in the West. That will pressure OKC's front office to do something this offseason to build a better roster around the other-worldly talent Westbrook provides.
