ALAMEDA, Calif. - Retired Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, who is reportedly entertaining thoughts of a comeback, is visiting his hometown Oakland Raiders on Wednesday, and an National Football League source told ESPN's Adam Schefter that a deal between the Raiders and Lynch "eventually will happen".

It was reported earlier Lynch was considering coming out of retirement to play for his hometown Raiders. He still has strong ties to the area through his Beast Mode company and would be a welcome addition for a fan base still stung by the team's upcoming move to Las Vegas for the 2020 season.

The Raiders are looking to replace running back Latavius Murray who recently departed for the Vikings in free agency.

It is worth noting that Rapoport simply says in the above tweet that Lynch will play again, not specifically that he'll play for the Raiders. Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington are among the candidates to take the lead role in Oakland.

The caveat to the pairing would be Lynch's ability to remain healthy after taking a year away from the NFL. Fact-finding mission... Raiders have many things to check out, including how Marshawn Lynch entering the young locker room works. He retired with two years left on his contract.
